Fireproof cable, also known as mineral insulated cable and magnesium oxide cable, is a copper core copper sheathed cable with mineral material magnesium oxide powder as insulation. Mineral insulated cable is composed of two inorganic materials: copper conductor, magnesium oxide and copper sheath. Fireproof cable is a cable with annealed copper as conductor, dense magnesium oxide as insulation, and annealed copper tube as sheath. When necessary, a plastic outer sheath is extruded on the outside of annealed copper sheath. Add a layer of low-smoke halogen-free jacket on the outside.
Fireproof cables are all composed of inorganic substances (metal copper and magnesium oxide powder). It can continue to maintain power supply under fire conditions close to the melting point of copper, and is a real fireproof cable.
Magnesium oxide itself is resistant to high temperature and does not burn at all. Adding it to the cable can play an insulating role, so cable manufacturers will add magnesium oxide to improve product quality when producing cables.
